As I have mentioned in my very first post, the book “Notorious RBG The Life and Times of Ruth Bader Ginsburg” inspired me to create this blog. So many thoughts ran through me as I listened the book. It may take a few posts to record them all. First, I want to talk about the importance of a man’s love to a successful woman.
What struck me the most is not only that RBG is one of the very few women who made it to the Supreme Court of the United States, but how her husband supported her throughout her career. Everyone knows the saying, “Behind every successful man is a strong woman.” I’d say behind every successful woman is a loving man. In the 1950s, while most men in his time thought women were property, like a piece of land to possess, Marty loved his wife fullheartedly. He considered RBG a life partner and supported her historical career pursue.
The loving man in a successful woman’s life could be a husband, but sometimes it is a father. Malala Yousafzai’s story inspired millions of people around the world. If not for her schoolteacher father, her story would be a totally different one.
Although the world has become much more female-friendly over the last 50 years, gender equality has a long way to go before all men and women, girls and boys are treated equally at their home, workplace, and school. It takes the love of every father to his daughter, every brother to his sister, and every husband to his wife to make this world a equal environment for everybody.
